Wallaceburg Red Devils Junior B lacrosse club is announcing today the hiring of Tye Belanger as the team’s general manager

Belanger brings a wealth of knowledge to the team and will be with the club for a two-year tenure. The Mooretown, Ontario native played seven seasons in the National Lacrosse League, as well as playing nine seasons in various senior leagues throughout Canada including; MSL, WLA and RMLL.

Belanger brings a wealth of knowledge to the team and will be with the club for a two-year tenure. The Mooretown, Ontario native played seven seasons in the National Lacrosse League, as well as playing nine seasons in various senior leagues throughout Canada including; MSL, WLA and RMLL. During his time in the junior level, he was named Canadian Jr. goaltender of the year in 2011. Belanger worked as the Red Devils assistant general manager and goaltending coach in 2022.Being no stranger to the Wallaceburg Lacrosse community, Belanger previously coached the U9, U17, and U22 (female) teams respectively. He is the current head coach of the U22 Griffins team, while holding the position as technical director of Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse Association. “Being granted this position amongst my fellow peers brings a feeling of honor and humility as I embark on this new journey,” Belanger said. “I want to thank Bill Pollock and the Board of Directors for their confidence in me to lead this lacrosse franchise, and to Jim Hopgood for the mentorship he gave me last season. I look forward to building up prestige to this team not only with the on-floor product, but within the community too. ”After finishing the 2022 season with a record of 6-14 and missing the playoffs, club President, Bill Pollock, is encouraged the team will bounce back stating he is, “looking forward to a successful season as another lacrosse season nears.
