 For the 2026 Season, we will be running the following programs:
  • Free 'Try Lacrosse' sessions (See Try Lacrosse Page)
  • House League Program (U9/U11 & U13/U15)
  • U5 (Soft Lacrosse/Peanut)
  • U7 (Paperweight)
  • U9 to U22 Travel Representative

- $200 Organization Fees (due within 2 weeks of Rep. Team position offer)

- Additional team fees will be extra

* Players must have their initial registration fee paid to be eligible to tryout.  There are no tryout fees, and a player may be released after one tryout.  Please see the refund policy in the WMLA Rules and Regulations Manual under the About Us tab.

 

** To be eligible for the Early Bird pricing, full payment is required by February 28, 2026 11:59 PM.  This includes confirmation of any financial supports like Jumpstart and A.L.L. for Kids

*** U22 players wishing to try out for Junior B Red Devils, must register for the Wallaceburg Griffins U22 program first.  Fee refunds will be issued upon acceptance to team position offer.

 

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Try Lacrosse

Completely free single session events held in a local gym to give parents and prospective players an introduction to lacrosse and some of the basic skills of passing, catching, cradling and shooting. This program is designed for players that have never played lacrosse but are interested in learning a little more of the game without the financial commitment. Hockey helmet with a full cage and appropriate indoor shoes are required, gloves (lacrosse or hockey) are recommended, and sticks will be provided.

 

House League

A full 10-Week program running late April to late June.  The mandate of the House League Program is to offer lacrosse skill development in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. U9-U11 age groups will remain non-contact and focus on skills with progression to full-floor game play. U13-U15 will include an introduction to contact after 3-4 weeks of skill development and assessment, with full contact games being played in the later weeks.


This program is great for players that are released from Representative tryouts to work on focused lacrosse skill development and for families that are not ready for the commitment of a full travel lacrosse season. Appropriate Footwear, Helmet, Gloves and a Stick are required for all ages. U13-U15 will require additional equipment (shoulder pads, kidney pads and elbow pads in addition to helmet, gloves and stick)


Note: U5-U7 will not be included in the House League programming for the 2026 year - see U5 (Peanut/Soft Lacrosse) and U7 (Paperweight) registration for more information on programming for those ages.

U5 (Soft Lacrosse / Peanut)

Soft Lacrosse is a 8 week program focused on basic stick skill development and fun. The sessions are short and engaging at only 45 minutes. Players will be encouraged to participate in fun group games and activities, as well as develop their individual skills. Players require a helmet, gloves (hockey helmet and gloves are fine), a stick and clean running shoes. U5 lacrosse is non-contact.


Parent involvement is encouraged (Police checks required), and the board is actively seeking a coach to lead the group.

 

U7 (Paperweight)

The U7 program for the 2026 season will follow a similar structure to House League with group practices focused on skill development and progression to full-floor game play. Players will be introduced to stick skills (passing, catching, shooting) as well as the basics of offence/defence game play. Dependent on registration, the U7 coaches  may decide to create a select team for a local jamboree, and potentially one travel tournament. U7 players require full equipment: helmet, gloves, stick, running shoes, shoulder pads, elbow pads and kidney pads.

Travel Representative Lacrosse

This is the Rep. Box Lacrosse we are all used to watching and playing. All players registering for Rep. lacrosse are required to tryout. The Org. does support having a second representative team if registration and appropriate coaching support is available. This will be a board decision each year for each individual age group. All players must tryout for the First Rep. team and be released to be eligible for the Second team. If a player is released from all tryouts, they will be automatically added to the House League roster, ensuring all players have the opportunity to enjoy the game lacrosse.
